I’m looking for a UK & Ireland Sales Manager and Business Development Manager for a long-established, but “challenger”, brand in the contract interior textiles sector.
The role is hands-on in leading the sales effort, while motivating the small sales team (currently three key account managers and sector specialists). With a strong focus on business development and growth – the UK market has considerable untapped potential – you will lead the development and profile of the brand, through strategic marketing as well as sales.
This is a high-quality product with considerable history behind it, but also extensive R&D and product development to ensure it is competitive, current and sustainable – a key competitive advantage.
You will have both sales and management experience in a related industry – textiles, interior products etc – working with specifiers, architects & designers, hospitality and commercial end-users. You’ll be able to show me a record of sales growth and developing people, while protecting and enhancing the brand values of the business – internally and with customers.
You should also have good commercial awareness – this should include strong negotiation skills, a keen understanding of financials – budgets, pricing and margins. You’ll have a good degree of autonomy and accountability in running the team to ensure that the group’s goals and ambitions of doubling sales revenue (currently c£3m) in the next three years are achieved.
Business Development Manager
We are also seeking to appoint a Business Development Manager for the same company.
You should have a similar background – a strong track record of achieving growth and good relationships with architects and designers, specifiers, commercial and contract end-users. You will also have experience in textile or related interiors products.
You will be home-based – somewhere in the north of England, Midlands or South – and be given a good deal of autonomy to build and develop your business with new and existing customers.
