Director of Group Accounting and Consolidation

Can you manage complex international financial accounting, reporting and compliance AND deliver transformation?

This well-funded, ambitious and acquisitive marketing services group, with current revenues c£150m, is offering a rare chance to play a major role in its next stage of development.

Based in London, with a mix of home working and travel, you will lead the group’s UK and international financial accounting teams and be the company’s technical expert in accounting, consolidation, tax and compliance for a group with several trading entities in (currently) 19 countries.

The job is hands-on: setting policy and controls, producing monthly/quarterly consolidated accounts, reporting and filing all statutory requirements. But it is also about leadership and transformation: there is an appetite for change and restructuring, and you will advise the group CFO and the board on technical matters and strategic issues.

You will have a good deal of autonomy and the opportunity to make your mark.

You should be a motivational and inspiring leader: you will both lead and work with the international finance heads to build capacity, drive change and create a more cohesive, efficient, group accounting and reporting function.

We are looking for a someone who can demonstrate a track record of improving performance, whether through innovation, changing systems and processes, or transforming significant parts of the finance function within an international group.

You should be fully qualified, with accounting and consolidations experience in a business of similar complexity. You will need to demonstrate expert-level knowledge of IFRS and reporting standards, as well as the ability to lead, develop and motivate staff through change.

There is some flexibility to work at home at times, but you should have good access to the head office in London.
