How does a move from England to New England sound?
I’m looking for an Executive Assistant to work with the US based CEO of a small, but global, and rapidly growing business.

About the company
The business is a small engineering designer and manufacturer and manufacturer of equipment. It’s a family-owned business, established for 60 years. The HQ is in New England, USA, and it has offices in Derbyshire in the East Midlands, and in Barcelona. They also have a global network of distributors.
The company’s products are used in a range of industries from space and aviation to food and drink. Business is good and the company is growing. It is ambitious but retains a family-oriented culture.
About the job
Of course, this role requires managing the calendar, communications, and all correspondence for the CEO. this will involve extensive contact with customers, trade bodies, and company staff. you will also organise travel, trade events such as exhibitions and hospitality, and support sales and marketing activities across the world. Additionally, you will assist with other interests and business projects the CEO is passionate about.
But, this is not your typical desk-based assistant role….
You will be at the heart of the business – the go to person, involved across the group in the US, UK, Europe, and further afield. You will have the opportunity to gain vast commercial knowledge and experience which will can further your career in the group.
Most importantly, the job requires extensive global travel and a need to work in UK and North America (close to Boston). You will spend at least half of the first year in the US and considerable time there after that. Depending on your personal circumstances, you will have the opportunity to based at the Derbyshire office initially, for a period of up to six months. During that time you will travel to US and attend events in Europe and further afield. It is expected that you will ultimately be based full time at the US HQ – but still travel extensively around the world with the CEO.
All relocation expenses will be covered and rental accommodation will be provided in the USA for the first six months when you move there.
About you
We are keen to find someone who wants to learn and grow their career in the business. Personality and attitude is as important than qualifications and work experience alone.
However, you must be able to demonstrate exceptional administration and organisation skills. You should have some aptitude for, and interest in, working in an engineering/technical environment. Some work experience in a marketing and/or sales environment will be useful, but is not essential.
You will have experience of building a strong working relationship with a senior executive, or team of directors.
You need to be of the highest personal integrity and utmost discretion.
You will be ambitious, looking to prove yourself in a position like this, and excited by the international element of this role. You will likely have travelled widely already – an appreciation of cultures, countries, and continents is important. Some language skills, particularly Spanish, would be a real advantage.
Flexibility in approach is required. This business operates across all time zones so you may be contacted by distributors and customers at any time, not just between 9 and 5.
Most importantly you must be willing and able to travel extensively.
This role will suit someone with experience working closely with a CEO, executive team, a family office, or HNW individual.
In the UK, the company is based near Derby where you will be initially based. You must currently be resident, with the right to work, in the UK and be able to travel/relocate to the East Midlands to begin this job.
An immediate start is available. Salary and benefits are negotiable depending on experience.
