The Opportunity
This is a highly autonomous role in an established Managed Service Provider business with vast potential for growth. You will be leading a small, talented, team and be responsible for coaching, mentoring, motivating – creating an environment which enables them all to realise their potential.
The Managing Director has full P&L and commercial responsibility, defining the future strategy and business plan.
Although not a sales role, this does require a great deal of customer contact and stakeholder management to develop and grow the business.
This is potentially a first MD role for someone with a rare mix of leadership and commercial skills – someone who can build on both the sound business base and a highly positive team culture.
The business supports its clients in delivering innovative, transformational and mission critical projects through its team of highly skilled engineering and technical-specialist staff. The client base is growing and operates in key business sectors including aerospace and defence, energy and utilities, telecoms, transportation etc.
Key objectives for the new Managing Director revolve around organisation development, building on processes and efficiencies, and developing revenue opportunities and profitability.
There is a genuine opportunity to double the size of the business (at least) in the next three years. That won’t be easy, but it presents the chance for someone to make their reputation in this exciting and growing industry sector.
